Cycling Facilities – take part in our survey

We are considering improvements to on-site cycling facilities to encourage more people to cycle to work. If you have an opinion on this, we would love to hear your thoughts at the survey here

National Walking Month

May is National Walking Month and this year LVP ran a competition for all those who walked to work, with more journeys to work on foot earning more entries into our prize draw for a £100 M&S voucher. Natalie, who works at Arla, was the lucky winner and said ‘I live in Rothwell and have been walking into work every day for around 4 years. It’s a great way to start to the day and a nice way to wind down after a busy working day. I also feel like I am doing my bit both for the environment and for my health. I like to keep fit and active and unfortunately I recently slipped a disc in my back, this kept away from my usual gym sessions for a couple of months. However, during this time, although the pace was slow and steady, I was still able to walk in most days and it kept both my fitness levels and spirits up. I’m nearly back to full recovery now and my walking pace is almost back to full power mode.’

Free Cycle Maintenance and Cycling Promotion at LVP took place on 20th March

On 20th March mechanics from Cycle Republic visited LVP offering free bike health checks, free basic maintenance and tuning, and 25% OFF servicing costs for more serious repairs at their shop in Leeds city centre for people who work at LVP. They repaired 10 bikes.

The Love to Ride team were also on site promoting cycling, handing out freebies and maps, giving advice about cycling, and launching their online challenge for Ride to Work Week.
